About Us

Maiko, Reyna, Delfino, Garrett, and Uriel

SLO Goats & Sheep isn’t just a business—it’s a family way of life. Locally owned and operated, our grazing services are rooted in generations of hard work, love for the land, and deep family bonds. We believe in doing things the natural way, using our goats and sheep to manage vegetation, restore ecosystems, and reduce fire risks across San Luis Obispo County. Since 2021, we’ve helped neighbors, businesses, and communities care for their land, one property at a time—all while staying true to our family values.

At the heart of it all is the Ordaz family. Delfino and Reyna, along with their four children (with daughter Marisol missing from the image above), run the operation together, with the support of a large extended family. Ranching isn’t just a job for them—it’s in their blood. Delfino spent years managing sheep flocks in Mexico, while Reyna, who took charge of a goat herd at just 10 years old, brings a lifetime of experience and care. Their children have grown up alongside the animals, learning the ropes, speaking both Spanish and English to keep everything running smoothly, and playing a vital role in daily operations.

Everything we do—every field we clear, every animal we care for, and every partnership we build—is grounded in family. When you work with SLO Goats & Sheep, you’re not just getting a service; you’re becoming part of our extended ranching family.

Garrett, the youngest member of our team, is quickly becoming an expert with the guard dogs, though his lassoing skills are still a work in progress. Maiko, our talented artist and Lead Spotter, also helps wrangle Garrett during the day-to-day activities. Uriel, one of the older children, is about to graduate from high school and has plans to enlist in the Marines after graduation. As the Operations Manager at SLO Goats & Sheep, Uriel brings a strong sense of leadership and dedication to the team.

Cindy Findley, a family friend and nana to the Ordaz children, contributes to SLO Goats & Sheep by helping with sales, marketing, and conducting daily wellness checks for the team. With a PhD in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology and an MBA, Cindy thrives in sharing the environmental benefits of targeted grazing and proudly talking about the hardworking family behind the company. She also owns Windy Ridge Ranch in West Atascadero, which serves as a maternity ward, infirmary, and quarantine depot for the animals.

At SLO Goats & Sheep, family values and sustainable land care are the core of our way of life—and our exceptional livestock guardian dogs embody that commitment. Our two remarkable dogs are a unique blend of half Great Pyrenees and half Akbash, offering the perfect mix of protective instinct and gentle temperament. Peligro, the seasoned veteran, brings years of experience and calm authority to his role, expertly assisting with births, soothing stressed goats and sheep, and vigilantly standing guard against predators. In contrast, Capitan, still a goofy teenage spirit, adds playful energy and youthful mischief to our daily operations. Their shorter coats are perfectly suited to the mild Central Coast climate, ensuring they remain comfortable as they work tirelessly. Together, they safeguard their team, mirroring our own dedication to hard work, innovation, and deep-rooted family traditions that have defined our business for generations. When you choose SLO Goats & Sheep, you’re joining our extended ranching family, where every detail matters and every member plays a vital role.
