About SLO Goats & Sheep

SLO Goats & Sheep LLC isn’t just a business—it’s a family way of life. Locally owned and operated, our grazing services are rooted in generations of hard work, love for the land, and deep family bonds. We believe in doing things the natural way, using our goats and sheep to manage vegetation, restore ecosystems, and reduce fire risks across San Luis Obispo County. Since 2021, we’ve helped neighbors, businesses, and communities care for their land, one property at a time—all while staying true to our family values.

A Family Way of Life

At the heart of it all is the Ordaz family. Delfino and Reina, along with their four children, run the operation together, supported by a large extended family. Ranching isn’t just a job for them—it’s in their blood. Delfino spent years managing sheep flocks in Mexico, while Reina, who took charge of a goat herd at just 10 years old, brings a lifetime of experience and care. Their children have grown up alongside the animals, learning the ropes, speaking both Spanish and English to keep everything running smoothly, and playing a vital role in daily operations.

Everything we do—every field we clear, every animal we care for, and every partnership we build—is grounded in family. When you work with SLO Goats & Sheep, you’re not just getting a service; you’re becoming part of our extended ranching family.

Meet the Next Generation at SLO Goats & Sheep

Garrett, our youngest team member, is quickly mastering the art of working with our livestock guardian dogs—even if his lassoing skills are still a work in progress. Maiko, a talented artist and our Lead Spotter, helps wrangle both goats and Garrett while attending Atascadero Junior High.

Uriel, one of Delfino and Reina’s older children, is currently focused full-time on supporting the family businesses: SLO Goats & Sheep and SLO Ranch Services. He continues to prepare for his future enlistment in the U.S. Marines, and in the meantime, serves as Operations Manager—bringing strong leadership, logistical know-how, and a deep sense of purpose to our daily work.

Marisol, while not pictured, is an indispensable part of the team. A full-time nursing student in Santa Maria, she has a special touch when it comes to animal health and well-being. Whether it’s a two-legged or four-legged creature in need of care, we know we can always call on Marisol to help with vaccinations, doctoring, and hands-on support whenever she’s home.

Cindy Findley, a family friend and nana to the Ordaz children, contributes to SLO Goats & Sheep by helping with sales and marketing. With a PhD in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology and an MBA, Cindy thrives in sharing the environmental benefits of targeted grazing and proudly talking about the hardworking family behind the company. She also owns Windy Ridge Ranch in West Atascadero, which serves as a maternity ward, infirmary, and quarantine depot for the animals. Cindy is a master gardener, permaculturist, and avid monarch butterfly cultivator.
